2010 STEP UP Summer Program
The math camp project for the S.T.E.P. Up Tutoring Summer Enrichment Program centered around building boats out of cardboard with only tape and glue to hold them together. Children had to calculate size and shape as part of the math project and selected designs for their boats. On June 9th, children went to the Salt River Community Pool on Longmore and put their boats in the water. The longest lasting boats received the prize-those boats were the NIKE sneaker and the Turtle. Children K-2 made boats to float in the kiddie pool.
